Each unit is made to last. Using strong, weather resistant materials designed for marine use, we expect it to run smoothly for about 6 to 7 years. The only thing that would truly need maintenance after that time would be the gear ratio.

Does it need to be removed during the winter or storm seasons?

Not usually. The system is built to handle tough weather, including storms and winter conditions. That said, if there’s a major storm coming or you prefer to be cautious, it’s easy to detach and store until things calm down.
